These clients came to me with her father's wedding band of white and yellow gold. She wanted to have one made for her and he was to wear her father's. The original intention was to create an engagement ring to match, however nothing they looked at was what they were looking for. So instead, they chose a totally independent ring and she wears her father's design on the other hand!
The engagement ring was designed to incorporate sapphires because the couple both liked the look of combining sapphires and diamonds. They selected the center diamond and the engagement ring was created by hand to complement it. He declared the ring to be "their engagement ring" and took equal pride and ownership in the process. The resulting ring is exactly what they both wanted.
